cottages@polycount.net with your request.

cottages@polycount.net with your request.
- I have a POP3 account, how do I send and receive email?
- Set your SMTP and POP3 servers to mail.polycount.net. Check your
email using your username and password. After you've checked your
email, you have a ten minute window in which you can send, based on
your IP address.
- I have a forwarding account, can I still send email through mail.polycount.net?
- Not at this time. You may be able to in the future.
- How do I upload files to my cottage using Microsoft Windows XP?
- From My Network Places, click on Add a Network Place; or, from
any Explorer window, click on Tools, Map Network Drive, Sign
up for online storage or connect to a network server.
Click Next, Choose another network location, Next, enter
http://webdav.polycount.net:80/yourname and follow the prompts.
Don't forget the port number. Once this is done, you can go to My
Network Places and your cottage will be there.
- When I upload really large files, my uploads appear to lock up, and eventually fail.
- This is usually seen with files larger than 1GB. See Microsoft
Knowledge Base Article 818408 describing the problem. A hotfix is
available from Microsoft. Alternatively, use third-party WebDAV
uploaders which do not rely on the Microsoft controls for your large
files, such as the Cadaver 0.22.2 (2MB) command-line utility.

you've asked us to set that up for you.
- I'm a Polycount.net Administrator, how do I log in to administer things?
- Follow the regular cottage instructions, but use
http://cottageadmin.polycount.net as the URL. Leave off the port
number and don't include a username.
